The Fabric of Our Neighborhood

The Silk Factory Lofts are located one-quarter block south of Armitage Avenue and one block east of California Avenue—nestled between Bucktown, Logan Square and Humboldt Park.

Equidistant from the California and Western Avenue Blue Line El Stations, public transportation is a short walk away—with easy automobile access to both the Kennedy and the Eisenhower expressways. Nearby Milwaukee Avenue buses and bike lanes afford more transit choices.

Taste buds are also easily transported with local favorites like Belly Shack, Parson’s Chicken and Fish, Table, Donkey and Stick, Revolution Brewing, Boiler Room Pizza, Bang Bang Pie, The Radler and an ever-growing repertoire of options in a burgeoning restaurant scene.

Perhaps the most exciting addition (or alteration) to the neighborhood is “The 606” or “Bloomingdale Trail.” This rails-to-trails project, two blocks from the building,  converted a 100-year old railroad embankment into a nearly 3-mile long greenway. This linear park draws many comparisons to New York’s High Line—yet our trail allows bicycling and jogging.
